All Emtez LithiumVault cabinets have undergone a destructive fire test conducted in an accredited independent laboratory and meet The European standard EN 14470-1 pertaining to cabinets that can be freely positioned or wall-mounted for storing flammable materials.

In the fire test, the cabinet’s wall is placed 100 mm away from the fire room wall. The cabinet’s fire resistance must be confirmed through a destructive test using an identical model. As well as protecting the contents of the cabinet from external fires, this fire-rating classifies the protection offered to your people and premises outside the cabinet from fires started within.

The temperature increase inside the cabinet should not exceed 180°C. Depending on the time it takes to reach this temperature, the cabinet is classified as Type 15, 30, 60, or 90 minutes. These classifications ensure sufficient time for laboratory staff to evacuate and for firefighters to respond before flammable substances inside the cabinet pose a fire hazard. All Emtez LithiumVault cabinets have undergone compliance checks according to EN 14470-1 and hold certificates of tests conducted by Bureau Veritas (BV).
