Client Needs:
Prysmian in Vilanova i la Geltrú – Barcelona, required a robust outdoor storage solution for 8,000 kg of organic peroxides, with the flexibility to accommodate potential increases in quantity. They specified a maximum storage capacity of 16 pallets (1200 x 800 mm) for organic peroxides. The desired facility had to be equipped to support future production growth.
Emtez Solutions:
Emtez addressed Prysmian's needs by supplying an 8-meter, 2-level, single-sided container with a capacity for 16 pallets (1200 x 800 mm). This container was meticulously designed to ensure stability and safety for the stored products. Key features included an interior temperature probe with an exterior thermometer, ATEX zones certification/validation, a decompression panel to eliminate overlapping, and a movable storage roof along guides to relieve internal overpressure in case of emergencies.
Additionally, the container was equipped with an open door alarm as per the client's requirements, along with proper ventilation. Notably, the container complied with the new ITC MIE APQ 9 regulations for the storage of organic peroxides and self-reactive materials for flammable products (RD 656/2017).
